Frequented by surfers, people playing beach volley and soccer in the afternoon, Joaquina offers one of the best beach infrastructures to tourists. This beach is one of the most popular destinations for visitors from all over Brazil and foreign tourists on the hot spring and summer days. There is lighting, public showers, ample paid parking space, restrooms, parking space for tourist buses, lifeguards, a police station, a handicraft store, bars, restaurants and hotels.

The condition of the ocean at Joaquina is ideal for surfing, which is why the beach has become the stage for large national and international championships. Here you can enjoy southern Brazil's most famous dunes, with heights that vary between 40 and 60 meters, and do some sandboarding, or sandsurfing. There are sandboards for rent on location.

- Long walks can be had along its shores, which at one point meet the shore of Campeche. Similar to Moçambique and Barra da Lagoa, Joaquina, Campeche and Morro das Pedras beaches are connected by the same strip of sand.
