Campeche beach lies between Joaquina and Morro das Pedras, approximately 23 km from downtown. There are no geographical features separating the 3 beaches, which extend for a long stretch of white sand, surrounded by dunes and sandbank vegetation.

The water is generally quite cool with an unusually high degree of saltiness. It has strong, right waves providing ideal surfing conditions and making it one of the most popular surfing locations in Florianópolis.

The paradisiacal beauty of the Campeche Island, about 2 kilometers from the beach, can be taken in through boat rides leaving from Armaçao beach and Barra da Lagoa. Boats rarely leave from Campeche beach.

Campeche's tourist infrastructure is varied; there are good hotel, inn, and restaurant options. A point to remember is that this is a large neighborhood and the establishments are not grouped in a single location. Besides the countless natural beauties, Campeche's strategic location grants easy access to both the Island's southern and eastern beaches.

One of the most famous visitors to Campeche - after whom the main street, Pequeno Principe, is named - was the French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery. During the 20th century, Saint-Exupery was the commander on a French mail plane that would stop at a landing field in Campeche. Undoubtedly, one of the community's historic marks.
