Natural beauty and a complete infrastructure make
Canasvieiras the preferred destination for Argentine
tourists. As a result, most establishments have bilingual
employees.
Canasvieras
boasts a beach over 2km long with warm, green water
and few waves. The strip of fine white sand is narrow,
so it is advisable to come early on hot days in order
to find a spot. It's possible to rent everything from
beach chairs to kayaks. There are also other options
of family activities including: banana-boat, schooner,
and diving excursions.
The
infrastructure is complete, with a police station,
24 hour supermarket, mini-mall, car rentals, banks,
post office, and travel agency. As for cuisine, Canasvieiras
has churrascarias [steak houses], Italian specialty
food stores, seafood, typical local food, international
cuisine, snack bars, candy shops, and ice cream parlors.
Lodging
is also abundant in Canasvieiras. Options range from
luxury hotels, inns, leasing a residency or house
and for those on tight budgets, there are hostels
and campsites. At night, tourists and islanders can
have fun at bars with live music, show houses, and
nightclubs.
