Jurere is a typical beach on the north of the island with calm, green ocean and a mild water temperature. There's a little over 3 km of thin, light colored sand, making for a pleasant walk. On the water, the sailboats and yachts fromSanta Catarina's Yacht Club lend it a sophisticated image.
Jurere is divided into two areas, each with very distinct characteristics. On the left side is the entirely planned and structured area of Jurere International, containing parks, supermarkets, an open air mall, bars, fine restaurants, and ample parking space. This neighborhood attracts people concerned with the finer things in life, who have transformed the place into a 'mansion park'.
On the right is what is known as Traditional Jurere. The older neighborhood residents live there along with a variety of restaurants serving the Island's typical cuisine. Santa Catarina's Yacht Club is located there, with a pier that has beach access.
